We collect almost nothing.
gloob is anonymous by design. There is no account. There is no email. There is no tracking pixel or marketing analytics.
What we store
- An anonymous session token in your browser's localStorage so you don't get to share more than once every 30 minutes.
- The emotion you picked + an intensity value (1–10).
- A geographic coordinate randomly offset by up to 5 km from where your browser said you are.
- A reverse-geocoded city + country name (looked up on MapTiler).
- A creation timestamp.
What we don't store
- Your IP address. Anywhere.
- Your exact location. The fuzz is permanent — we never knew it.
- Your name, email, browser fingerprint, or device identifier.
- Tracking cookies. We don't have any.
How long
Each emotion stays on the live map for 24 hours, then leaves the map view. The anonymous hour-by-country record is kept indefinitely — that record is the project. Because nothing about it points back at you (no IP, no fingerprint, ±5 km fuzzed coords, anonymous session), retention is safe.
Your rights
Under GDPR and similar laws you have the right to request deletion of your data. Since we don't have an identifier tying you to it, the easiest way is to clear your browser's localStorage for this site, which severs the only link.
